Black Market Creatives Showcase Featured in the Washington Informer

We’re excited to share that the Black Market Creatives Showcase was recently featured in an article by the Washington Informer, written by Jada Ingleton. The piece, titled "Turning Pain into Purpose: How Black Entrepreneurs are Transforming Trauma, Health Care in D.C.", shines a spotlight on the impact of Black entrepreneurs in our community and highlights the heart of our mission: uplifting local talent while pushing boundaries in creative and entrepreneurial spaces.

The article specifically highlights Rylinda Rhodes, a valued member of the Black Market Creatives DC family, and her incredible journey of transforming trauma into purpose. As one of several entrepreneurs featured in our upcoming Small Business Saturday Showcase on November 30th, Rylinda’s work exemplifies the core values of our event—empowering creators who use their resources to bring healing, innovation, and inspiration to the D.C. region.

Since its inception in 2016, the Black Market Creatives Showcase has been a platform to amplify Black-owned businesses and celebrate the diverse talents that make up our community. From health care innovators to artists and artisans, the marketplace continues to provide space for entrepreneurs to connect with new audiences and share their stories.

We’re honored to have our work featured in the Washington Informer and grateful for the opportunity to highlight the incredible stories of our network members like Rylinda. We encourage everyone to check out the full article [here] to learn more about the event and the inspiring work being done by Black entrepreneurs in the D.C. area.

Join us on November 30th at the Anacostia Arts Center for the 2024 Small Business Saturday Black Market Creatives Showcase. Let’s celebrate local Black-owned businesses and continue to push boundaries together!

Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to the big day.
