Every February, Black History Month gives us a moment to reflect, celebrate, and reconnect with the roots of our culture. For Status Apparel DC, one of the most meaningful ways we do that is by showing up—physically, intentionally, and joyfully—at spaces created for us, by us. That’s why Black Joy Parade in Oakland, California holds such a special place in our hearts.

🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨Status Apparel DC has officially been accepted into Black Joy Parade Year 9—for the second year in a row. And honestly? We couldn’t be more excited.

More Than a Parade — It’s a Movement

The Black Joy Parade, presented by Black Infant Health, is not just an event. It’s a celebration of Black excellence, creativity, resilience, and togetherness. With over 30,000+ people in attendance, the energy is unmatched—music everywhere, families laughing, creatives sharing their work, and a community moving as one.

It’s Black joy in its purest form.

Being surrounded by that many Black-owned brands, artists, and entrepreneurs reminds us why we do what we do. It re-centers the mission. It refuels the passion.

Growing Community Beyond DC

Traveling from DC to Oakland isn’t just about vending—it’s about building bridges. Black Joy Parade gives us the opportunity to introduce Status Apparel DC to a new market we’re intentionally investing in and looking to grow long-term.

Every conversation, every first-time customer, every “I’ve never heard of y’all before but I love this” moment matters. That’s how community expands—organically, face-to-face, with real energy behind it.
